Alumni Knowledge Video Webcast – Linking Performance and Talent Management to Business Value
July 19, 2017
Wednesday, July 19: 7:30 – 8:45 a.m. PDT / 10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. EDT / 4:30 – 5:45 p.m. CEST

In a world disrupted by exponential change, CEOs are constantly redesigning their strategic priorities and organizations. Just as CFOs must ensure sufficient financial capital to deliver, CHROs need to drive a holistic talent strategy that helps the organization capture value in the market, unleashing energy and speed in the organization. It is time for the CHRO to make the same leap the finance function has made over the past decades, and become a true business leader and partner to the CEO. Join Partner Elizabeth Hioe (New Jersey) and Expert Associate Partner Sarah Pobereskin (New York), for a conversation on how to mobilize talent to drive exceptional performance.

During the session, we will focus on two areas of particular interest around talent.

First, we will talk through the Firm’s proprietary “Linking Talent to Value” approach, which lays out how organizations can more directly connect talent to value creation. This begins with clarity on the value agenda, then how organizations can identify which roles are truly most critical to value creation, and how to design and dynamically match the right talent to them. The presenters will talk through examples of how some organizations are prioritizing key roles with a value-based approach rather than traditional hierarchies and static job descriptions.

Then, they will discuss performance management and performance culture, both of which are critical in identifying and nurturing the best talent for roles critical to capturing value within an organization. Our presenters will discuss various trends – including throwing out traditional approaches to performance reviews and ratings – and share their research and findings on which trends and approaches work best. They will also share a set of core beliefs on how to design a performance management system that motivates individuals and puts the manager back at the helm of performance management.
